Executive Moves: Kansas City Southern, Delta Cargo and V.Group

Kansas City Southern names VP of sales and marketing for the energy and short line relations business unit, and VP of intermodal relations, while Delta Airlines appoints vice president of Delta Cargo and V.Group names CEO and chief commercial officer.

   Kansas City, Mo.-based Kansas City Southern (KCS), a transportation holding company with railroad investments in the United States, Mexico and Panama, has appointed Ginger Adamiak as vice president of sales and marketing for the energy and short line relations business unit. She has 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, banking, treasury, investor relations, structured financing, leasing and market analysis, including 20 years in transportation. In 2006, she joined KCS as director of investor relations, and was promoted to assistant vice president of marketing in 2011 and assistant vice president of finance in 2015. Before joining KCS, she spent nine years with GATX Corp., and also held financial positions with Household International and Continental Bank.
   KCS has also named Darin Selby as vice president of intermodal operations, replacing Morris Godwin, who will retire Sept. 1. Selby has 24 years of railroad experience in sales and marketing, customer service and transportation. In 2001, he joined the company as assistant trainmaster, and has held progressive roles in customer service and sales and marketing, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing for the energy business unit. Prior to joining KCS, he spent eight years with OmniTRAX’s Central Kansas Railway.

   Atlanta-based Delta Airlines has appointed Shawn Cole vice president of Delta Cargo. He most recently served as vice president of finance and corporate planning.

   V.Group, a London-based global marine and offshore vessel management and support services provider, appointed Ian El-Mokadem as chief executive officer. El-Mokadem is joining V.Group from Exova, where he served as chief executive for the last six years. Before that, he was group managing director, UK & Ireland of Compass Group, and held leadership positions with Centrica and Accenture.
   V.Group also named Martin Gaard Christiansen as chief commercial officer. Christiansen is joining V.Group from Wrist Ship Supply, where he has served on the company’s board and as CEO of the company’s operations in Asia. He also previously worked for the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group for 25 years.
   El-Mokadem and Christiansen will both assume their new roles in the autumn.
