Executive Moves: Norfolk Southern, CFI and Swiss WorldCargo

Norfolk Southern names executive vice president and chief financial officer; CFI appoints senior vice president, sales and operations; and Swiss WorldCargo selects regional manager of the newly created Western, Southern USA & South America region.    Class I railway Norfolk Southern Corp.’s board of directors has appointed Cynthia Earhart as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective today. Earhart succeeds Thomas Hurlburt, Norfolk Southern’s vice president and controller, who has served as interim chief financial officer since Aug. 1, following the retirement of Marta Stewart. Earhart joined the railway in 1985 and most recently served as executive vice president and chief information officer. She will retain her information technology responsibilities.

   CFI, a North American full-truckload carrier and division of TFI International Inc., has appointed Greg Orr as senior vice president, sales and operations. Orr was most recently president at Action Resources, and before that, he was president and former vice president of operations for Con-way Multimodal. Before joining Con-way, Orr worked with Greatwide Dedicated Transport as vice president of operations, and at Schneider Logistics where he was vice president/account general manager.

   Swiss WorldCargo, the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines, is consolidating its American organization in October from three regions to just two – Western, Southern USA & South America and Northeast/Midwest USA and Canada – and has selected Hendrik Falk as regional manager of the newly created Western, Southern USA & South America region. Falk, who was previously vice president, North and South America for AirBridgeCargo, has almost 30 years of experience in the air cargo industry.
   The Northeast/Midwest USA and Canada region will continue to be led by Michael Ganz, while René Brechbuehl, who has been heading the South-East USA & South America region for the last three years, will be retiring in October after 44 years of service with Swissair and SWISS.
