Executive Moves: South Carolina Ports Authority, Port of Manatee, Port of Tacoma and IACSC

South Carolina Ports Authority names carrier and shipper veteran to VP of HR, while the ports of Manatee and Tacoma and the IACSC install board leaders.

   The South Carolina Ports Authority announced that Bob Mozdean will join the organization as senior vice president of human resources in January. Mozdean has substantial experience as a senior human resources executive, including stints with Hapag-Lloyd, Overseas Shipholding Group, Dannon, and Seagram Spirit and Wines Group.

   Betsy Benac has been elected to a one-year term as chairwoman of the Manatee County Port Authority, the governing board of Florida’s Port Manatee. Also elected to the board for one-year terms as officers were John Chappie, first vice chairman; Charles Smith, second vice chairman; and Robin DiSabatino, third vice chairwoman.
            
   Port of Tacoma commissioners have sworn in Connie Bacon as the commission’s 2016 president. Bacon, who was first elected to the commission in November 1997, succeeds Don Johnson as president. Commissioners Johnson and Clare Petrich also were sworn in following their November re-elections.

   The International Association for Cold Storage Construction has elected Brian King of A. M. King as its 2015-2016 chairman. Tim Nguyen of ESI Group was elected as vice chairman, and Vince Free of SubZero Constructors was elected treasurer.
