Executive Moves: Tiger Cool Express, FedEx, DACHSER and Smith Transport

Tiger Cool Express appoints chief commercial officer and executive vice president of operations, FedEx names president of FedEx Express Europe and CEO of TNT, DACHSER promotes COO of air and sea logistics, and Smith Transport selects new president.    Temperature-controlled intermodal transport specialist Tiger Cool Express has named Leslie Baird chief commercial officer and Don Aiken executive vice president of operations.
   Baird previously served as vice president of sales for Interstate Distributor Co., where she was responsible for leading commercial strategy for the Regional Dry Van, Team Expedited, Temperature Control and Asset Lite business units.
   Prior to joining Tiger Cool Express, Aiken served in a series of intermodal operations and leadership roles at JB Hunt, Schneider National and NFI.

   FedEx Express Europe President and TNT CEO David Binks will retire in June. Bert Nappier, currently FedEx Express senior vice president of finance – international, will succeed Binks in the role, effective June 1, 2018.
   Binks joined FedEx in 1983 as part of an acquisition in the United Kingdom and was credited for his instrumental role in the completion of the company’s acquisition of European parcel carrier TNT Express in 2015.
   Nappier, who started with FedEx in 2005, serves as co-chair of the FedEx Integration Leadership Council in addition to leading the international finance organization.

   Jochen Müller has assumed the role of chief operations officer (COO) for German logistics provider DACHSER’s Air & Sea Logistics unit, effective Jan. 1, 2018. He replaces Thomas Reuter, who retired at the end of last year after 39 years at DACHSER.
   Müller, who joined DACHSER in October 2016 in preparation to take over the position of COO, will also become a member of the executive board.

   Roaring Spring, Pa.-based trucking company Smith Transport, Inc. has selected Todd Smith as its new president. He succeeds Barry F. Smith, who will continue to serve as the company’s CEO and chairman of the board.
