Executive Moves: TraPac, IANA, American Maritime Partnership and Odfjell

TraPac appoints new president and CEO; IANA installs 2018 board of directors and officers; the American Maritime Partnership elects leadership positions; and Odfjell names COO, global head of ship management and global head of tanker trading.

   Container terminal operator TraPac, LLC has appointed Stephen Edwards to serve as its new president and chief executive officer, effective Jan. 15. Frank Pisano transitioned from his role as president to a new role as senior advisor on Jan. 1.
   Edwards most recently served as CEO of Global Container Terminals. Edwards also previously served as president and CEO of Ports America Group, president and CEO of P&O Ports North America, and in senior positions with P&O Nedlloyd/P&O Containers.

   The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) installed its 2018 board of directors and officers on Jan. 1, including three new members.
   Adriene Bailey was elected to her second term as board chairman. Bailey has held leadership positions at Yusen Logistics, Pacer International, CSX Transportation and the Southern Pacific Railroad.
   Serving along with Bailey as officers are Michael Wilson, senior vice president of Hamburg Sud North America, Inc., as vice chairman; as well as Mark George, chairman of IMC Companies, as treasurer.
   The board also welcomed three new members, which include Shelli Austin, InTek Freight & Logistics Inc., representing the 3PL division; Douglas Hoehn, Milestone Equipment Holdings, representing the supplier division; and Kevin Lhotak, Reliable Transportation Specialists, Inc., who was elected to an at-large seat. In addition, James Newsome of the South Carolina Ports Authority was re-elected as a marine division representative. For each of these four board seats, the term of service, which commenced Jan. 1, is for three years.

   The American Maritime Partnership (AMP), a trade association for the domestic maritime industry, has elected Matt Woodruff to serve as president, succeeding Thomas Allegretti, president and CEO of The American Waterways Operators.
   Woodruff, who is vice president of public and government affairs for Kirby Corp., serves as the Southern region chairman of the American Waterways Operators, and as vice chairman of the Inland Waterways Users Board. In addition, he is a retired Commander for the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he served as an intelligence officer.
   Joining Woodruff in elected leadership positions on the AMP board of directors are Michael Roberts, James Weakley and Matthew Paxton.
   Roberts, who is senior vice president and general counsel of Crowley Maritime Corp., was elected AMP vice president.
   Weakley, who is president of the Lake Carriers’ Association, will serve as treasurer for the AMP board of directors.
   Paxton, who is president of the Shipbuilders Council of America and is a partner at Adams and Reese LLP, was elected secretary.

   Norway-based Odfjell, which specializes in seaborne transportation and storage of chemicals and other bulk liquids, appointed Harald Fotland to serve as chief operation officer, effective Jan. 5. Fotland joined Odfjell in 2010 as chief of staff, was appointed to serve as senior vice president of Odfjell Tankers in 2015, and has also held the position of intermediate senior vice president of Odfjell’s ship management since January 2017.
   Odfjell has also appointed Geirmund Drivenes to serve as global head of ship management. Drivenes, who joined the company in 2001, has held the role of vice president of fleet management since 2004.
   Odfjell has also appointed Bjørn Hammer to serve as global head of tanker trading. Hammer, who joined the company in 2007, most recently served as vice president of tonnage procurement.
