EXEL ANNOUNCES UPS, FORD EUROPE ALLIANCE    Exel Plc, a transportation facilitator based in London, has formed an alliance with Ford Europe and UPS Logistics Group to oversee logistics processes for components and auto parts for Ford on the Continent.
   Exel, which merged earlier this year with Ocean Group, said that the arrangement would provide Ford Europe with supply chain support across all of its European plants.
   In the United States, Ford and UPS Logistics have cooperated strategically in the past. For its part, Exel has had a 20-year relationship with Ford.
   Exel also said on Monday that it had disposed of Exel Froid, its loss-making French chilled food distribution business, to a consortium of managers and employees “for a nominal consideration.”
