EXEL RESUMES IRAQ DELIVERIES

Exel, a U.K.-based logistics provider, said Monday it has resumed overland delivery operations in Iraq.

Exel and its agent partner CML in Jordan are providing overland delivery services for commercial and relief aid cargoes from the seaport at Aqaba and from Amman airport through to Baghdad City.

“National export license requirements remain in force for shippers. Until there is a formal end to hostilities and a government in Iraq, there is no legislation and therefore no insurance limitation, no insurance cover, and no system of law in which to make a claim,” Exel said in a statement.

“Beneficial owners are responsible for insuring their own goods against all risks from Amman airport and from Aqaba seaport. Exel and CML will continue to assess risk as the macro environment stabilizes within Iraq, and a system of government and law is established, ” Exel said.
