Famous Pacific launching air division in New Zealand Famous Pacific Shipping said it was launching its FPS Air brand in New Zealand.
   The non-vessel-operating common carrier also named Akanesi Ofahengaue as manager of its air freight division in the country.
   Akanesi is a graduate of the University of Auckland and joins FPS NZ from Air New Zealand Cargo.
   Marcus Goldsworthy, managing director of FPS New Zealand said that while FPS is better known as an NVO and sea freight forwarder, “we are making great strides in certain markets to build on our air freight activities. New Zealand is one such market where we believe that we can achieve significant growth in the volumes of air freight that we carry.”
