Famous Pacific Shipping lands Sri Lanka project cargo deal
Asia-based Famous Pacific Shipping’s Sri Lanka subsidiary has been awarded a contract to handle the majority of freight logistics for construction of a new power plant by West Coast Power Ltd., the largest power supplier in Sri Lanka, a subsidiary of Lanka Transformers/Sri Lanka Electricity Board Group.
Very substantial volumes of bulk, breakbulk and containerized cargo will be carried until the middle of this year,” the non-vessel-operating common carrier said in a statement. “The Sri Lanka power project cargo agreement comes at the same time as Famous Pacific Shipping members are developing a significant track record in project cargo forwarding as a means of diversifying from the group's NVOCC business model.”
