FDA OFFERS NEW SECURITY DOCUMENTS TO FOOD TRANSPORTERS, IMPORTERS

   The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has released two revised safety documents to help transporters and importers prevent tampering of food supplies by criminal or terrorist groups.

   The documents are:

   * “Food Producers, Processors, and Transporters: Food Security Preventive Measures Guidance.”

   * “Importers and Filers: Food Security Preventive Measures Guidance.”

   Companies may obtain copies of the documents by sending written requests to John Kvenberg, Office of Compliance, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (HFS-600), Food and Drug Administration, 5100 Paint Branch Parkway, College Park, Md. 20740. Include a self-addressed adhesive label to help the office process your request.
