FEC Railway names EVP

   Florida East Coast Industrials, the parent company of the Florida East Coast Railway, has named Edward Manno Shumsky executive vice president and chief human resource officer.

   The company said Shumsky will manage its organizational operations and oversee the human resources related to the recent acquisition of Codina Group, Inc. Shumsky will report directly to FEC chairman, president and CEO Adolfo Henriques.

   “Edward brings a powerful mix of human resource leadership, legal expertise, and corporate accomplishments to FECI,” said Mr. Henriques. “His ability to configure high-performance executive teams and to develop strategic and rewarding human resource initiatives will be a tremendous benefit to our organization.”

   Shumsky joins FEC from Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global human resources and financial management consulting firm, where he directed the Miami office.

   He was with Watson Wyatt for 16 years. He also worked as executive assistant and counsel to the CEO of E.F. Hutton & Company, where in 1987 he was directly involved in the company’s realignment and sale to Shearson Lehman American Express. Earlier in his career, he was an antitrust lawyer with the Federal Trade Commission.
