FedEx Trade Networks has opened its first office in Bangkok, bringing its number of offices in the Asia-Pacific region to 17.
The move is part of FedEx’s global growth strategy. According to a FedEx press release, the 2011 Thailand freight forwarding market was worth just more than $2 billion; that value will increase to $3.2 billion by 2015.
“Launching operations in Bangkok is vital to our growth as a global service provider. Our customers are increasing their business in Thailand and need flexible, efficient freight forwarding to support their imports and exports,” FedEx’s Joseph Frank said in a statement. – Jon Ross
