Feeder vessels collide in India
Two feeder container vessels collided in the waters off of Kolkata, India, according to various news reports.
The vessels, the 1,016-TEU Green Valley (built 1995) and the 917-TEU Tiger Spring, collided Tuesday morning, with the Tiger Spring (operated by Beluga Shipping) sustaining heavier damages. The Tiger Spring is chartered by intra-Asia feeder operator Bengal Tiger Lines.
No casualties were reported. Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) is India’s easternmost large seaport.
