FERRER APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF VASTERA
Mark J. Ferrer has been appointed president of Vastera, the provider of global trade management services.
Ferrer joined the Dulles, Va.-based company in December 1999 as chief operating officer. He retains that title in addition to president.
Prior to joining Vastera, he was president, Baan Americas from October 1998 to December 1999, and was chief operating officer for Aurum Software, a Baan company, from April 1998 to October 1998. Prior to that he held numerous positions with IBM, including vice president software sales and marketing.
