FESCO ADDS SHANGHAI TO TRANSPACIFIC SERVICE

   Far Eastern Shipping Co. has added direct calls at Shanghai to its "FPL Pacific Line" transpacific container service.
    The addition of a fourth ship to the service has enabled the Russian carrier to introduce direct Shanghai calls and improve its frequency from sailings every 12 days to once every 10 days.
    The first call at Shanghai is scheduled tomorrow (Nov. 17). Eastbound transit times from Shanghai to Long Beach will be 18 days.
The revised rotation of the service is Seattle, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Long Beach, Seattle.
    Recently, the South Chinese port of Yantian was added to the schedule.
