FESCO EXPANDS PACIFIC SERVICE

FESCO EXPANDS PACIFIC SERVICE

Far Eastern Shipping Co. is planning to upgrade the frequency of its FESCO Pacific Line service in the first week of April, from every 10 days to fixed-day weekly.

The Russian shipping line is adding two 1,800-TEU vessels to the service, the “FESCO Endeavor” and “Kapitan Afanasyev.”

From next month, the transpacific service will have a fleet of six containerships, each of about 1,800-TEU capacity.

The rotation of the service, which remains unchanged, is Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Long Beach, Seattle and Shanghai. FESCO also calls fortnightly at the port of Vladivostok, Russia.

FESCO is one of several ocean carriers that are adding capacity to their transpacific services just before the start of the annual peak season period in the eastbound Pacific trade.

Information of the latest ship capacities of all the transpacific services is available from the ComPairData global shipping database at http://www.compairdata.com .
