FESCO MAKES ALTERATIONS TO ASIA/AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND SERVICES    Far Eastern Shipping Co. is dropping calls at Brisbane on its weekly FAL service as part of the rationalization of its two services in the Asia/Australia/New Zealand trade.
   The last call at Brisbane on the FAL service will be made by the Kapitan Kurov on April 28.
   The FAL service uses 5 ships averaging 1,275-TEU capacity and the revised port rotation will be Manila, Yantian, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Sydney, Manila, Yantian and Hong Kong.
   Brisbane is being added northbound to FESCO’s New Zealand Express Line once the service has been upgraded to fixed-day weekly from its present 10-day sailing frequency. Currently Brisbane is only served southbound. The first northbound call at Brisbane is scheduled to be made by the Mekhanik Moldovanov on May 3.
   FESCO has also announced that the New Zealand Express Line service is switching direct calls from Auckland to Tauranga. During April and May the service will be upgraded to five ships of 1,050-TEUs, replacing four 450-TEU vessels. The vessels call at Hong Kong, Manila, Brisbane, Tauranga and Lyttelton.
