The award was presented at the Tampa Port Ministries' Anchor Ball Oct. 6. The annual ball is the largest fundraiser for the group, which operates the international seamen's center at the port, providing services and amenities for crewmembers of cargo and cruise ship calling at the port.
Fidler was recognized for his record of service during a nearly 30-year career at the port. He joined the port as assistant director of operations in 1978 and has been involved in many areas of port management since then, focusing primarily on operations and security.
