FKI Logistex finishes automated handling system for shoe retailer

St. Louis-based material handling systems firm FKI Logistex has completed a $10.8 million project with Internet shoe and apparel retailer Zappos.com to supply an automated material handling system for its new Shepherdsville, Ky. distribution center.

   FKI's system automates material handling, including receiving, presort, put-away, picking, packing and shipping, in the 800,000-square-foot site.
