Fleets sign up for tracking technology    Five trucking companies have purchased trailer tracking systems from SkyBitz, the technology company said.
   Mesilla Valley Transportation in New Mexico, Driveline International, Stage Call Corp. and Seahorse Transport Inc. outfitted their entire fleets with SkyBitz's Global Location System. Royal Trucking made a more limited purchase, a SkyBitz spokeswoman said.
   The trucking companies use devices to improve trailer utilization and reduce cargo theft. Driveline International located three stolen trailers in the past six months, SkyBitz said.
   Dulles, Va.-based SkyBitz is a new company that provides tracking technology that transmits satellite positioning data to a central computer to calculate actual location rather than doing the calculation on the unit itself.
