Fletcher to become USTRANSCOM operations director

Fletcher to become USTRANSCOM operations director

   United States Army Maj. Gen. Charles W. Fletcher, Jr. has been selected to become director, operations and plans at U. S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

   Fletcher currently serves as the commander of USTRANSCOM’s Army component command, the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, headquartered at Alexandria, Va.

   Fletcher will take over from Air Force Brig. Gen. Paul J. Selva, who will become deputy director, Air Force Strategic Planning, deputy chief of staff, Strategic Plans and Programs, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force.

   USTRANSCOM’s mission is to provide air, land and sea transportation for the Department of Defense.
