Florida again dominates cruise industry

Florida continued to dominate the cruise industry in 2006, with the top three ports in total embarkations and the state's five main cruise ports accounting for 56 percent share of the total U.S. market, according to statistics released by the Cruise Lines International Association Wednesday.

   The Port of Miami had the highest number of embarkations with 1.89 million, followed by Port Canaveral (1.4 million), Port Everglades (1.15 million), Tampa (457,000) and Jacksonville (130,000).
