Florida trade mission visiting U.K.

A trade mission comprised of Florida officials ranging from Gov. Jeb Bush to local elected officials and businesses is visiting the United Kingdom this week to drum up new business.

There are 111 members in the delegation, which will be visiting England and Scotland. One of the events on the schedule is a stop at the Farnborough International Air Show.

Much of the focus of the trade mission will be on the aviation, aerospace, and biomed industries. State officials estimate there are already more than 250 British companies doing business in Florida, employing some 40,000 people.

The state estimates two-way trade between Florida and the U.K. totals $2 billion a year.
