Flugleidir Group changes name to FL Group
Flugleidir Group, Icelandair’s parent company, agreed at its general annual shareholders meeting Thursday to change its name to FL Group.
“This is to emphasize the fact that we are now an investment company. The old name of Flugleidir is in the mind of Icelanders exclusively connected to airline operations which now are operated under the Icelandair brand,” said chairman Hannes Smarason. “Secondly, we are now an international company and the Flugleidir name is unsuitable abroad.”
