FMC cites 6 OTIs for bond problems

   The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has cited 6 ocean transportation intermediaries for failure to comply with bond requirements, and issued notices their licenses will be revoked if they do not correct the problem.

   The FMC has given the companies until April 17 to respond and until May 17 to seek an evidentiary hearing before the FMC.

   The companies threatened with license revocation are Cambell & Gardiner Inc., Ken Lehat & Associates Inc., Ocean Transportation Services LLC, Interfreight Inc., Caribbean American Shipping Corp., Ford International Forwarding Inc., Independence Shipping Lines Ltd., and S&B International Freight Forwarders Inc.
