FMC hearing on NVO tariff publishing May 24
The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission said it will hold a public meeting on May 24 at its Washington headquarters to receive oral comments concerning its proposed rule regarding non-vessel-operating common carrier negotiated rate arrangements.
Specifically, the proposed rule, which was issued by the FMC on April 29, would relieve licensed NVOs from publishing tariffs for the rates they charge for cargo shipments.
The FMC said that requests to appear at the meeting must be filed with the Office of the Secretary no later than 5 p.m. on May 14. For more details, access the Federal Register notice.
