FMC’s Doyle to take helm at Dredging Contractors of America

U.S. Federal Maritime Commissioner William P. Doyle, Sr., who is stepping down from the regulatory body Jan. 3, was selected by the Dredging Contractors of America’s board of directors to serve as its new executive director and chief executive officer.    U.S. Federal Maritime Commissioner William P. Doyle, Sr. has been selected by the Dredging Contractors of America’s (DCA) board of directors to serve as its new executive director and chief executive officer, the DCA revealed Tuesday.
The DCA is a non-profit trade association that has been representing the U.S. dredging and marine construction industry and its members for more than 30 years.
Doyle said last month he would be stepping down as FMC Commissioner, effective Jan. 3, 2018. He expects to begin serving in his new role at DCA during the first week of January, DCA said.
“The DCA is especially grateful to our outgoing executive director, Mr. Barry Holliday, for his many years of successful leadership at the DCA,” said Ashley Kerns, president of the DCA’s board of directors and senior vice president of Mike Hooks, Inc.
“Bill Doyle is a proven leader in the maritime industry,” Kerns said. “His extensive experience spearheading maritime policy including drafting legislation, shaping policy and managing communications, combined with his enthusiasm and passion for the dredging and marine industry made him the right person to guide our industry association on an exciting journey forward.”
