Former financial executive joins GT Nexus board

GT Nexus, an on-demand logistics services Web portal, on Monday said Dan Riley has joined its board of directors.

Riley, who is retired, was president of Bank of America’s Global Treasury Services, a division that operated in more than 30 countries, with more than 12,500 employees and revenues in excess of $5.5 billion.

The appointment is viewed by Alameda, Calif.-based GT Nexus as evidence that logistics information and financial operations are increasingly overlapping.

“GT Nexus has built a global network that is already capturing and processing information that the finance community desperately needs,” Riley said in a statement. “Global companies are increasingly recognizing the financial value of supply chain data networks because efficient global trade requires mastery of the multi-party information exchange that takes place between all of the various vendors and service providers.”
