Fort Lauderdale airport candidates? interviews set

Fort Lauderdale airport candidatesÆ interviews set Five finalists in the running to become the director of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are being interviewed today and Friday.
   The candidates are:
   * Bob Bielik, interim director of the Broward County Aviation Department.
   * James Fazio, chief operating officer for JFK International Airport's Terminal 4.
   * Kenneth Gwyn, director of strategic customer service for the city of Dallas and former director of aviation for Dallas.
   * Maribel Hernandez, chief operating officer of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.
   * Richard Stephen Walsh, director of aviation for Palm Springs, Calif. International Airport.
   Airport spokesman Greg Meyer said all five candidates were to tour the airport today and would be interviewed over the two days by a committee appointed by Broward County, which operates the airport. County Administrator Pam Brangaccio will recommend a single candidate to county commissioners, who can then approve or reject the selection. No timetable has been established for making the decision.
