Fort Lauderdale airport volumes continue to rise

Fort Lauderdale airport volumes continue to rise Traffic at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport increased 8.6 percent in November, driven by growing international services of new, low-cost air carriers, the county-owned airport reported Thursday.
      International traffic was up 26.7 percent, while domestic traffic was up 6.5 percent. Passenger traffic reached 1.86 million for the month.
   A statement on the monthly statistics credited the increases on new services, including:
   'JetBlue to Ponce, Puerto Rico; Buffalo; Richmond, Va.; and Syracuse.
   ' Spirit's to Ponce and Aruba.
   ' Frontier to Memphis.
   ' Allegiant Air which started smaller-market domestic services Nov 14.
