Home Diagnostics makes diabetes testing meters and strips. With business growth in Canada, Europe and Latin America, in addition to its U.S. clients, the company is adding 140 employees in Fort Lauderdale to increase productions levels, according to a report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The company has 300 employees in Fort Lauderdale and had another 250 at other sites in the U.S. and abroad. The expansion will bring employment to about 690.
The report said the company had sales of about $115 million in 2007, with profit expected to top $9 million. The report said exports make up the fastest growth segment for the company.
