Forwarders expand LCL services

Freight forwarders CEVA Logistics and Panalpina this week each increased their less-than-containerload service offerings.
CEVA expanded its LCL service into Australia via the ports of Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. The service is a 16-day trip from Shanghai that also serves Brisbane with cargo clearance at CEVA’s container freight station.
This follows new LCL services that CEVA started in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates in February.
Panalpina has launched four LCL services in Latin America through its in-house non-vessel-operating common carrier Pantainer Express Line. The weekly and bi-weekly services will connect Buenaventura, Colombia, with Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Colon, Panama, as well as Santos, Brazil with Colon and Veracruz, Mexico, with La Guaira, Venezuela.
Panalpina said it started more than 50 new LCL services last year, with the majority focused on Asia.
