Freight Logistics to use CargoSphere for rate management

Freight forwarder and logistics provider will use the cloud-based rate and contract management tool to streamline access to rates and provide quicker quotes to customers.    The freight forwarder and logistics services providers Freight Logistics has begun using a rate management solution from the cloud-based software provider CargoSphere, the company said Monday.
   Freight Logistics is now self-managing air and ocean carrier contracts using CargoSphere’s SUDS (Smart Upload and Diagnostic Solution) and receiving rates over CargoSphere’s web-based Rate Mesh from carriers, non-vessel-operating common carriers and the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America.
   Freight Logistics said its implementation of the CargoSphere platform would take two months. Cloud-based systems have a shorter implementation cycle due to less IT involvement and the immediacy of internet connectivity.
   CargoSphere’s rate search engine offers access to all possible routing options and mode-specific filters, allowing a user to select the optimal routing and rate. Freight Logistics now has a single freight rate database that allows them to issue branded quotations to customers.
   “Due to the volume of rates we manage and array of rate sources we access, processing and effectively using rate data was cumbersome and complex,” Marcela Garbers, operations supervisor at Freight Logistics, said. “Comparing rate options manually was time-consuming and wasn’t productive. We knew we needed a tool that would simplify this process. With CargoSphere we’re able to quickly and affordably compare all rate sources in one search engine and quote faster to enhance customer satisfaction.”
