Correction – load matching does NOT require a load “board”. All of the new matching services are now completely bypassing the old load board process and using simple computer code to match a potential truck with a potential load. Just looks at Convoy or Uber Freight on the broker side or AscendTMS or McLeod on the TMS side. Even some third party services like Smart Capacity do it by integrating with most of the top TMS systems – and even the biggest ELD providers have all announced auto-matching programs with shippers (or through the TMS vendors.)

The need for a load “board” is going away and these traditional load boards won’t even exist in a few years. It will all be done “system to system” soon from inside your chosen TMS software.
