Freightgate portal upgrade goes live Logistics software provider Freightgate on Tuesday announced the release of The Freightgate Portal 2.0/Beta.
   The Huntington Beach, Calif.-based firm's free portal provides access to a variety of tools and resources for the logistics industry, including the trademarked Freightgate Marketplace, industry news headlines, carrier tracking and tracing modules, shipping schedules, and airline schedules. The portal, according to the privately owned Freightgate, is a neutral environment and not affiliated with any industry participant.
   The new Web site encompasses a comprehensive search capability and an entire suite of collaborative features such as Message Boards and Wikis.
