FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SHIPPERS ASKED TO COMMENT ON CODEX MEETING

   Fruit and vegetable shippers have been invited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Marketing Service to comment on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Codex Committee on Processed Fruits and Vegetables.

   The public meeting will be on Aug. 10 in Washington. Shippers may view related documents at http://www.fao.org/waicent/faoinfo/economic/esn/codex/ccpfv20/pf00–01e.htm.

   The United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization created Codex in 1962. Its job is to protect the health and economic interests of consumers and to encourage fair international trade of food.
