FTA launches policy forum

The Freight Transport Association, which represents road, rail, sea and air operators in the United Kingdom, is creating a policy forum to address operational challenges and public policy issues.

The FTA said the International Supply Chain Forum (ISCF) will guide its lobbying and campaigning activities as well as providing a forum for U.K. supply chain stakeholder to exchange knowledge and best practice.

The first meeting of the ISCF will be held on June 11 and will include a workshop on improving flow through container ports, a presentation on European rail freight services from EWS, a discussion of industry response to government plans on aviation tax, and an international freight security briefing from Transec.

The forum will be open to all FTA members and other invitees. For more information contact Christopher Snelling, FTA's head of rail freight and global supply chain policy on +44 (0)1982 552245 or e-mail: [email protected].
