FTA names Snelling head of rail, supply chain policy

The United Kingdom’s Freight Transport Association has appointed Christopher Snelling as head of rail freight and global supply chain logistics policy.

Snelling was a public affairs consultant with APCO UK from 1998 until 2005. In his new job, he will be responsible for all rail, maritime and aviation policy matters together with related transport buyer issues and reports to Chris Welsh, FTA’s general manager, policy campaigns.

At the same time, the FTA has promoted Chris MacRae to rail freight and global supply chain logistics policy manager, reporting to Snelling. MacRae joined the FTA in 1993, and in addition to rail, maritime and aviation policy matters, he will retain his existing responsibilities in respect of dangerous goods policy, both national and international, and will also take responsibility for transport health and safety policy.
