G-LOG TEAMS WITH DIGITAL FREIGHT FOR RFQ, RATE MANAGEMENT '    Global Logistics Technologies Inc., the Connecticut-based logistics software developer, has formed a strategic partnership with Kentucky-based Digital Freight to provide online bidding, rate and contract management solutions to international shippers.
   'G-Log and Digital Freight said their joint solution will help global shippers to “manage the bidding process and to optimize carrier rates and rate contracts, while reducing costs and improving service quality.”
   Digital Freight describes itself as an interactive Internet community with online tools for automating the request for quotation process. G-Log provides software that optimizes multi-modal international shipment itineraries and manages shipments during transit to ensure on-time delivery.
   Together, the two companies say they can help shippers negotiate competitive rates based on carrier performance, manage higher volumes of RFQs with online procurement applications specifically designed for logistics, optimize carrier selection, optimize profitable routes and desirable lanes and manage contract allocation.
   G-Log is working with several major shippers and logistics service providers, including DuPont, Eastman Chemical Co., Kimball International, Exel and FedEx Corp.
