GAC expands to South Korea through alliance
The GAC Group said it has expanded its port agency services to South Korea through a global network agreement with Unipros Marine.
Through the alliance, operated as GAC-Unipros, GAC will provide service coverage in Europe, the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Asia, Australia/Oceania and the Americas while Unipros Marine will provide service coverage in South Korean ports.
'With the South Korean government looking to attract international companies, it makes sense for us to join hands with Unipros Marine to capitalize on this anticipated wave of investment by the shipping industry into South Korea,' said Lars P. Heisselbeerg, GAC Group's vice president, shipping division.
Joy Hwang, president of Unipros Marine, said his company will benefit from 'leveraging GAC's global shipping network and its IT infrastructure.'
GAC provides independent shipping and transport services with more than 200 offices worldwide.
