GAC India opens facility near Mumbai GAC India has opened a new 20,000-square-foot third-party logistics facility at Bhiwandi, near Mumbai, to meet demands of the growing consumer markets in and around India’s biggest city.
   GAC said it would provide specialized 3PL warehousing and distribution services for fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, electronics, automobile parts, information technology and related market sectors. Temperature-controlled zones can also be provided.
   'The opening of the Bhiwandi facility is in direct response to the rapid development of 3PL in India,” said Gracias Thevar, GAC India's logistics services business manager, in a statement. 'The Indian 3PL market is set to grow tremendously in the next five to seven years, spearheading the growth of the logistics market.'
   GAC said it plans to increase its 3PL services in India organically, by starting on the West Coast and then extending north, south and east to create regional logistics hubs covering the entire country.
