The carrier will amend its SPX service June 5 to add calls at Qingdao and Oakland, while calls at Hong Kong will be dropped. The Oakland call will be the last call before Asia.
The current rotation, according to ComPair Data, is Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach and Hong Kong. The service operates with five vessels with an average capacity of 2,611 TEUs.
In April, Gary Luo, senior vice president for the line, outlined GCS’s expansion plans for American Shipper, including adding calls in Oakland.
