GCT develops deepwater containership berth

The Port of Gdynia Authority and Gdynia Container Terminal have signed an agreement to jointly develop a deepwater berth at the Bulgarskie wharf within the Polish port.

The new berth will have a quay length of 357 meters with a maximum depth alongside of 15 meters, making it possible for GCT to accommodate 8,000-plus-TEU vessels. GCT also continues to expand its container yard and invest in more equipment to meet operational requirements.

The new deepwater berth is expected to be operational in mid-2012.
