General Motors do Brazil has awarded Emery Worldwide’s Global Logistics
unit with a three-year, $18-million contract.
Emery’s logistics unit will handle distribution of the automaker’s
aftermarket parts and accessories to dealers throughout Brazil from two
warehouse facilities in Sao Jose dos Campos and Sorocaba, near Sao Paulo.
The unit will also provide customer service and information technology
support.
In selecting Emery, the automaker reduced its carrier base in Brazil
from 12 carriers to one.
Emery also manages aftermarket parts distribution for GM in India,
Germany, Turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong and Argentina.
