Geodis closes Ciblex acquisition
Geodis, a global logistics provider and subsidiary of SNCF Group in France, has closed its acquisition of Ciblex, effective April 22.
The company said Ciblex will be part of its groupage division. The acquisition was announced by Geodis on March 17.
Geodis Ciblex will provide transport and logistics services for packages up to 30 kilos in weight. The company works primarily with shippers in e-commerce, health, optics, high-tech products and spare parts sectors.
With a 700-person workforce and more than 700 subcontractors, Ciblex is able to receive freight as late as 8 p.m. for next-day deliveries before 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. or noon in France depending on the service required. The agreement will also round out Geodis' transport offering in Belgium, the company said.
In addition, the company said Geodis Ciblex customers will benefit from the groupage division's international shipping offerings.
