Georgia ports see 20.5% rise in January container throughput

The Georgia Ports Authority said container throughput at its ports in January increased 20.5 percent to 150,626 TEUs over January 2003.

The authority operates the deepwater ports in Savannah and Brunswick, along with inland barge operations in Bainbridge and Columbus.

Two additional services have recently started calling at Savannah, the CKYH alliance’s weekly all-water Asia/U.S. East Coast “AWE4” service, and a new weekly U.S. East Coast/East Coast South America joint service by NYK and Hapag-Lloyd.
