Germanischer Lloyd opens Ningbo office
German classification society Germanischer Lloyd today opened its ninth Chinese station office in Ningbo.
Wolf-Dieter Enter and a team of 14 surveyors will be responsible for the society's business throughout Zhejiang Province.
“We expect a fast development of this station in terms of newbuilding activities and material and component certification. We are providing services to five shipyards already,” said Hergen Thielemann, Germanischer Lloyd’s East Asia division manager, in a statement.
Germanischer Lloyd has eight other offices in China: Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Jiangyin, Nanjing and Wuhan, as well as an office in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
