Germanischer Lloyd opens Vladivostok office

Germanischer Lloyd opens Vladivostok office German classification society Germanischer Lloyd has opened a site office in the Russian Far East port city of Vladivostok that will cover fleet in service, machinery and components as well as newbuilding surveys.
   The office will also soon offer International Safety Management (ISM) and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) audits.
   'There are important shipyards and steel manufacturers located in the Asian regions of Russia,” said Guido F'rsterling, Germanischer Lloyd’s Russia manager. “With our new office we will be able to provide customized support at short notice.'
   Germanischer Lloyd’s Russian service network encompasses offices in St Petersburg, Volgograd and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Another site office will be opened in Novorossijsk soon.
