Paramount Chief Nana Akuoko Sarpong of Agogo, Ghana, headed a delegation that also included high-ranking government officials from the capitol city of Accra. Citrix Systems Inc., an international technology services company that has its headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, hosted the delegation. Citrix has established technology and business training programs in Agogo.
'This is the second economic mission that Broward County has had with representatives from Ghana,' said Broward County Mayor Josephus Eggelletion Jr. 'Ghana has established a remarkable record of economic growth, expanding export opportunities and rapidly increasing private investment opportunities. Many Broward County businesses have already established ties with this country.'
In January, Broward County's Office of Economic Development hosted Ghana's Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Kwame Bawuah-Edusei, to discuss economic opportunities.
Port Everglades' senior management and Eggelletion welcomed the delegation to the port.
