Gilbert assumes City Drayage operation

Gilbert assumes City Drayage operation Gilbert Co., a wholly owned Maersk subsidiary, has assumed the operations of City Drayage LLC, a contract motor carrier established in 1999 that provides distribution, warehousing and transportation services throughout northern California and parts of Nevada.
   Gilbert did not purchase the company.
   City Drayage's 45,000-square-foot facility located in Sacramento, Calif., includes 10,000 square feet of warehouse capacity, 20 truck doors, and parking for 60 trailers and/or containers, and a pool of 15 drivers.
   Gilbert said the expansion broadens its capabilities for customers in the northern California area, where Gilbert previously provided these services through partner carriers.
   Gilbert has three existing facilities in Chino, Calif., and also operates in Santa Fe Springs and Mira Loma, Calif., as well as Keasbey, N.J.
   Gilbert performs services such as value-added warehousing, domestic consolidation, deconsolidation, store/mall delivery, store replenishment, less-than-truckload hauling and domestic air freight.
